How does the self test work?

The Cottle manoeuvre can be used to identify functional tightness. Place one or two fingertips on either side of your nose on your cheeks. Gently push and pull them outwards. This will temporarily stabilise the nasal valve.

What does the self-test prove?

If this makes it easier for you to breathe in through your nose, the nasal obstruction is probably in the nasal valve at the front of your nose.

It proves that your breathing can be improved by stabilising the nostrils, as the nasal valves can no longer collapse.

The nasal mucosa is not impaired in its protective and smelling function, thanks to the odorless silicone pads. The respiratory air is still heated and the dry air humidified.
